Christo was born on 4 February 1954 and matriculated at the Linden High School in Johannesburg in 1971.<\/p>\n
He obtained the BA(Law) degree in 1975 at the former Rand Afrikaans University and the LLB degree at Unisa in 1981. Christo completed his articles at the firm Haasbroek & Boezaart in Pretoria and was admitted as an attorney in 1983.<\/p>\n
He later obtained the qualification CERTEEP (UNISA) in trusts and advanced estate planning. From 1984 to 1998 Christo was a partner in the firms Pienaar & Smith in Johannesburg and D P du Plessis & Partners in Pretoria before relocating to Nelspruit in 1989 where he established Christo Smith Attorneys Incorporated.<\/p>\n
Christo specialised the past 30 years in High Court and Magistrate\u2019s Court litigation, in particular, divorces, evictions, rental claims, contract law and damages claims.<\/p>\n
He has also gained extensive experience in administration of estates, trust law and wills. He served as Town Councillor of Nelspruit, the Executive Committee of the Council as well as in various school governing bodies.<\/p>\n
